The pigeon "Billy" was on board a Handley Page Hampden that crash landed on Februari 21st 1942 in the Netherlands. The 11 months old pigeon "Billy" was released by the crew at 10.00 hours and made it back to Waddington in 28 hours and arived the next day at 13.40 hours. The animal was totally exhausted.
