This award has been done after Dönitz decided no more awardings were officially to be recognized after 8th May 1945.
Proposal arrived at HPA on 11.01.1945 and it was rejected (according to the book "Verliehene Ritterkreuze" and Karteikarte notes). No official HPA Vorschlag (HPA-Verleihungsvorschlag) was prepared, he instead was awarded the Ehrenblattspange on 05.03.1945, which most probably resulted out of the rejected KC proposal. Award date determined by OdR.
