- Attacking Polish army units in the Kutno area despite being wounded.
- Damaging a British submarine off the island of Milos on the 23.05.1941.
- An attack on the Vitebsk airfield in Belorussia, where he destroyed 2 hangars, a fuel dump and 19 aircraft on the ground.
- Defeating a Soviet armoured attack southwest of Staraya Russa on the 17.08.1941, where he and his Kette destroyed two tanks.
- Wiping out an enemy artillery battalion with 45 vehicles while it was on the march in the same area as the previous action (19.08.1941).
- Destroying a total of 34 tanks, 82 trucks, 40 horse-drawn wagons, 3 artillery positions and 3 anti-aircraft positions in the time period July-November 1942, while he was serving on the centre of the Eastern front.
- Conducting numerous low-level attacks with his Staffel in the Rzhev-Zubtsov area during the time period 30.07.-08.08.1942. He braved heavy AA fire to help relieve the pressure on the Heer forces in the area. In this time Gey had an engine knocked out on three separate occasions, but each time was able to return to his airfield with just one engine working.
- Preventing a Soviet armoured breakthrough east of Sychevka alongside his Staffel on the 03.09.1942. 4 tanks were destroyed via direct hits and another 3 were damaged.
