At the recommendation of the Supreme Commander of the Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Göring, the Führer has awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross to Hauptmann Pentzien, Staffelkapitän in a Fernaufklärungsstaffel.
Hauptmann Hans Pentzien… achieved numerous feats of arms over the course of well in excess of 200 sorties. The information he gathered in this time was frequently of decisive importance for the command echelons of the Heer, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe alike.”
