Award date according to the personal career data of Siegfried Rieger.
Oberfeldwebel Siegfried Rieger recieved the DKiG as can be seen on the contemporary group photograph on the three Berliner Feuerwerker RKT (see viewtopic.php?t=41862 ). Neither Scherzer (2005), nor Patzwall & Scherzer (2001) confirms this but it's obvious on that particular photo.

Siegfried Rieger was among the small (10 men) Feuerwerker Kommando whose main task was to disarm unexploded allied bombs in Berlin. After disarming hundreds of bombs Rieger disarmed several unexploded bombs near the Reichskanzlei. The next day he was summoned to the Führerbunker and was awarded the Knight’s Cross by Hitler for his saving of the Reichskanzlei.
