On the night of 21st-22nd September 1940, Warden Miles was on duty when he was warned of the imminent danger of a bomb exploding nearby.
Miles left his shelter and warned other people whom he knew were in danger area. When the bomb finally exploded everyone was at save distance, but Miles died of injurys of this explosion.

Awarded posthumously.
