Biography

He was raised in St. Catharines, Ontario and joined the Lincoln and Welland Regiment in 1938 at the age of 14.
Ken was trained as Signaler, learning morse code, reading lucas lamps, and signal flags. Upon activation of the regiment in 1939 Ken did guard duty on the Wellandship Canal. In 1939 he was discharged for being underage and in 1940 he was reinstated and due to a clerical error was declared 19 years old. Served in Gander, Newfoundland, from 1941- 1943 when the Regiment was shipped to England. He served in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany and was discharged in November 1945.
