RRobert Lucius Cary Fisher was born in Portarlington, Ireland in 1900. He was educated at St. Colomba School and attended Trinity College, Dublin and Moorfields London reading Medicine where he achieved an M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O., D.O.M.S. He joined the RFC/RAF in 1924.
He spent most of his war in Burma and India 1942 to 1945 as a Wing Commander. He was promoted to Group Captain and was Medical Officer 205 Group in the Canal Zone before the Suez Crisis. He took over command of RAF Hospital Wroughton in 1951, retiring from there in 1957.
On his retirement he continued as a Consultant Eye Surgeon in the Swindon area for a number of years. He died in September 1973 at the age of 72.
