Biography

Paul Jehl was born in 1920 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and has 3 brothers who served during WWII and one brother who served in Germany during the Cold War. After WWII he returned to Fort Wayne and was a successful commercial real estate developer, along with 2 of his brothers. He died in 1978.

During the attack in which he earned the Bronze Star, Paul jumped on the enemy grenade to save the others in the fox hole, but his heavy winter clothes absorbed much of the explosion and he was not killed. Even up until his death Paul was finding shrapnel and boot leather from the grenade attack in his foot and leg.
