Biography

During the Second World War, Peter veeser finally reached the rank of Oberfeldwebel. After the war he served in the Bundeswehr from 2nd May 1961 until 30th September 1972 and finally reached the rank of Hauptmann there.

The following wartime excerpt describes why Veeser received the Knight’s Cross…

“Oberfeldwebel Peter Veeser… received the Knight’s Cross on the 14.05.1941 for his actions whilst serving as a shock troop leader in an Infanterie-Regiment. In this capacity he penetrated into a heavily defended village and captured a commanding hill position that overlooked the Struma valley.”
