    Biography

    On Thursday 18 November, 1943 AVRO Lancaster JB418 DX-1 in which Flight Lieutenant Gobbie flew was shot down during a mission to Berlin. He was taken prisoner of war and was held at Stalag Luft 1 in Barth, North-Germany (PoW nr 1589). The camp was liberated by Soviet Forces on 30 April, 1945.
