Biography

Stamboeknummer (Registration number) with the NSB: 47435. Nicolai was 'Postcommandant der Landwacht' of the 'Landwachtgroep Smilde'; The Landwacht was a para-military organisation, maily consisting out of NSB-members, to aid the Germans in police tasks. Nicolai died during an exchange of fire with members of an resistancegroup at the farmhouse of the Sinkgraven family. He died as a rusult of a shot in the back of the head and out of veangance the Germans later burned down the farmhouse.
