15.06.1942: Oberleutnant, (pilot) awarded the Ehrenpokal
01.01.1944: with II./ Schlacht-Geschwader 4 promoted to Hauptmann
17.03.1944: Oberleutnant, Stab II./ SG 4 WIA when his Fw 190 G-3 force-landed 4 km North of Anquillara due to damage from Spitfires
Some sources give he was KIA and buried at Oriolo Romano, Italy, his grave being guarded by two propeller blades coming from a Ca.133
