Biography

Leonard Wayne Thomas entered military service on 13th August 1942. He left by bus from his home in Hill City, Kansas. After he had received his training he was a Radio Engineer attached to the 5th Army Air Corp and served in the South Pacific. He was injured on Leyte Beach of the Philippines and received the Purple Heart. He spent one year in the hospital in Palo Alto, California and was released from military service 26th October 1945 with a medical discharge. Leonard Wayne Thomas passed away 9th December 1977.
