Yuki Minaga, 39677663, Technician Fourth Grade, FA, Battery "C" *** Field Artillery Battalion, for gallantry in action on 29 October 1944, near Biffontaine, France. As radio operator of an artillery forward observer party, he accompanied an assault platoon during a battalion attack and seizure of an enemy-held hill. As the reserve company was moving up to strengthen the hold onthe newly won high point, the enemy subjected the entire area to severe shelling which prevented furthur advance. Picking up the rifle of a fallen comrade and exposing himself to the murderous fire, Technician Fourth Grade Minaga proceededto work his way up the hill and by his courageous and fighting determination in the face of extreme danger inspired his comrades to rise and fellow his audacious example and to successfully defend the newly won position. Entered the service from Ogden, Utah.
