For devotion to duty in the face of heavy MG fire on the night 18/19 July 1943 at Gratta Calda, Sicily.
This NCO accompanied Capt Trudeau and with complete disregard to his own life went forward on a road beaten by enemy fire and was instrumental in saving two A/tk guns and carries as well as bringing back a number of wounded from the dangerous zone.
