Recommendation:
During the course of an attack on 18 July 1943 on Spot Height (762) South East of Enna in Sicily it became imperative that an M.G. post assaulted. As the Platoon was being otherwise engaged, the Platoon Commander and his batman and Pte Brisson advanced on this post and in the course of the advance the Platoon Commander was killed and the batman critically injured. Pte Brisson showing great bravery, complete disregard for his own life, and devotion to duty carried on with the assault and got to the rear of the post and shot two of the enemy there and killed the third with the butt of his rifle. The wiping out of this post permitted the two other sections to advance and achieve their objective.
