Biography

His wife's name was Rhonda. They had two kids.He was in Europe from January 4, 1945 to January 28, 1946. Camp Gordon, GA is where he was discharged from. He was a heavy machine gunner (Browning M2). Fought in Po Valley. He had one other brother who also served. Lived in Miami before the war.

On April 18, 1945 near Mt. Croce, Italy, PFC Chapman "observed a sizeable concentration of enemy to his flank, who seemed preparing for a counter-attack. Quickly adjusting his gun to a new position he let loose a deadly bursting of fire which caught the enemy wholly by surprise, killing several and causing others to retreat."
