Biography

Linden H. Price Jr. was the Co-pilot of Boeing B-17F 55-BO,, Serienummer 42-29511 "Iron Maiden" from 525th Bomb Squadron, 379th Bomb Group, 41st Bomb Wing, 1st Air Division, 8th Air Force. The plane was shot down during a mission to Schweinfurt, Germany on October 14th, 1943. THe ten crewmembers; 2ndLt. Roland H. Martin - pilot, 2ndLt. Linden H. Price - copilot, 2ndLt. Daniel J. Maher - navigator, 2ndLt. Irving M. Rittenberg - bombardier, T/Sgt. Nicholas J. Macri - engineer/top turret gunner, T/Sgt. Edwin L. Mattern - radio operator, S/Sgt. Elihu Peacock - ball turret gunner, T/Sgt. John L. Ciehonski - right waist gunner, T/Sgt. Daniel A. Sirianni - left waist gunner and S/Sgt. Adam A. Janik - tail gunner were all taken Prisoner-of-War.
