Richard C. Pickering was born at Roganville, Texas on May 30th, 1921. He entered service at Fort Humbug, Louisiana on July 18th, 1944 and served with Company B, 40th Batallion. He was ordered to Hawaii on February 8th, 1945, where he arrived on February 17th and served on the Ryukyu Islands. He returned to the United States on June 6th, 1945 to arrive there on June 9th. Richard Pickering was honorably discharged on October 28th, 1945.

He passed away on August 25th, 1995.
