Biography

Roy Ellis was born on January 31st, 1920 as the son of Frank and Mary C. Ellis. He grwe up in Pershing and moved to Williamson in 1931. He graduated of Williamson High School in 1937 and worked in the mines round Williamson until he was enlisted on October 8th, 1940.

After completing his training as Radio-Operator in 1941, he was transferred to Alaska between June 5th - 11th, 1942. He was killed in action on June 11th, 1942, when his plane was shot down over Kiska during his first operational sortie.
