Citation:
"On the afternoon of 13th August 1944, The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry was advancing through the village of Moulines, in Normandy, in the direction of Falaise. The battalion took up a position pending an attack on an enemy strong point in this area.
Private Beauchamp was a signaler attached to "C" Company.
While the company was digging in it came under very heavy mortar and artillery fire, causing many casualties. During the entire bombardment Private Beauchamp kept communications open with battalion headquarters. He then turned his set over to another signaler and with great personal bravery and disregard of danger, went forward under heavy mortar and machine gun fire to pick up wounded.
His valour and devotion to duty was an inspiring example to the entire company and contributed largely to the success of the attack that ensued."
