Biography

Carlyle Willis Spreeman was a member of K Company, 28th Infantry Division. During the fighting in the Huertgen Forest near Schmidt on November 4th, 1944 he and a group of soldiers got separated from their unit. They were all taken prisoner and confined in Stalag 12A. After having been liberated by the Russians, they managed to reach friendly forces on foot.
Carlyle Spreeman died June 8th, 2002 in King, Wisconsin and was buried in Appleton, Wisconsin.
