Biography

Atie Visser was a member of the resistance and worked as courier with the name of "Karin" within the "Knokploeg" of Evert (Marinus Post).

Directly after the Second World War she worked in Leiden for the Politieke Opsporings Dienst (POD). She emigrated in 1947 to the Dutch East Indies, where shem met Herman Ridder with whom she married. Some years later the couple moved back to the Netherlands.

In June 2011 she, at the age of 96 years, confessed to a murder in 1946. In March 1946 she had shot and killed Engineer Felix Guljé who she suspected of having worked together with the German authorities during the war. Later it became known that Guljé in stead had housed Jewish refugees.
