Body was never recouvered, name was added to the "Tablets of the Missing".
Earl O. Thresher of Louisville, Kentucky, enlisted October 1st, 1941 at the age of 19. He was at Guadalcanal with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. He was initially reported KIA September 26th, 1942 however his remains were never recovered. A search of the remains deemed "nonrecoverable" was undertaken in the years following the war.
