Biography

Donald R. Denmead served as the Ball Turret Gunner with the rank of Sergeant, with 337th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group (Heavy).
He was reported missing in action when his Boeing B-17F (serial 42-30872) "Blonde Bomber", was shot down over the Waddensea when it was on its way for a mission over Bremen on December 16th, 1943. His name is being comemmorated at the "Wall of the Missing" on the American Cemetery at Margraten, the Netherlands.
