Awarded for the numerous successes he achieved with his Panzer-Kompanie. Particularly noteworthy was his Kompanie’s service in Operation Citadel. Attached to the 292. Infanterie-Division in the Ponyri area during the time period 08.-10.7.1943, the Kompanie destroyed 7 T-34s, 5 artillery pieces and 4 anti-tank guns, and also captured 15 prisoners.
