On the 18.07.1943 Unteroffizier Lindner and his men stormed a hill overlooking the Mius river, located south of Dmitriyevka, under the most difficult of conditions. The possession of this hill was of great importance for maintaining the German grip on the Mius front, and for this act Lindner would receive the Knight’s Cross.
