Biography

Jimmie J. Wood was inducted on October 1st, 1943 and enlisted at Oklahoma City on October 22nd, 1943. He served with Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment.
Jimmie Wood left for Ireland, Europe on March 22nd, 1944, arriving there on April 3rd, 1944. After participating in battle in Europe, he returned to the United States on April 6th, 1945.
He was honorably discharged as Private 1st Class on April 19th, 1946 at Borden GH, Chickasha, Oklahoma.
