    Biography

    Herbert Heim first served with Panzer-Regiment 21. In February 1942 he was placed with 2. / schwere Panzer-Abteilung 504 at Sicily. After Hauptmann Hummel was wouded he took over command of the unit as from July 19th, 1943 until he himself was wounded at Belpasso in August.
    After recovering he was placed back to his old unit in the Netherlands and France, to be in Toscani, Italy from June to August 1944. From September 1944 until the end of the war he served with his unit in Emilia, Italy.

    September 1st, 1943: Oberleutnant (RDA -9-);
    January 1st, 1945: Hauptmann.
