Biography

Alexander von der Brüggen married Vendla Ellen Jenny Käthe von Grumme-Douglas in Hindelang (Bavaria) on December 12th, 1945. She was a daughter of Rear Admiral (ret.) Ferdinand von Grumme-Douglas, once the adjutant of the Kaiser. The couple was divorced on February 25th, 1958 in Munich.

Alexander Baron von der Bruggen served after the war with the Bundeswehr reaching the rank of Oberst im Generalstab in 1966. In 1966-1967 he served as German military attache in Athens, Greece. From 1970 on he was in the staff of CENTAG.
