Corporal Carl Laska was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday, April 29th. My uncle, (Carl's brother) Frank Laska accepted the medal in honor of Uncle Carl. He survived the Bataan Death March in 1942 and died in June of that year in the prison camp Cabanatuan.
