Biography

Kenneth Stoddard Preston was born on September 5th, 1913 as son to Edward and Lillian Preston., He was the Observer on board the Vickers Wellington X3279 JN-M from No. 150 Squadron, when this plane was shot down by Oberleutnant Ludwig Becker from 6. Staffel, Nachtjagdgeschwader 2. The bomber crashed in the Waddensea, East of Ameland. All crewmembers, besides Preston, Co-pilot Sergeant Leonard Thomas Baker (1918-1942), Pilot Flying officer Malcolm James Larke Blunt (1915-1942), Gunner Sergeant Gwilym Thomas Edwards, Gunner Sergeant William Jackson (1919-1942) and Gunner Sergeant Stanley James Morgan, were all killed. Kenneth his body washed up at shore near Kollumerland, Friesland and was buried in Kollum.
