“Leutnant Paul Landgraf distinguished himself to a great extent through his exemplary personal bravery and outstanding leadership qualities in the campaign against the Soviet Union. In hard fighting he has so far destroyed 41 enemy tanks. He accomplished a great act of military excellence during the heavy defensive combat near a particularly important strongpoint. As a result of his decisive and brilliant decisions, this strongpoint was held by Landgraf and his men long enough for a new defensive line to be formed and secured.”
