Private Arthur Powell enlisted with the 6th battalion South Wales Borderers on 17/7/1940. He transferred to the RASC and served in India in 1942. He then transferred back to the SWB and between 1943 and 1945 served in Arakan and Burma. On 29/4/1945 he was wounded in combat and died of his wounds on 1/5/1945. He is remembered on the war memorial in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd. Glyn is buried in Htauk Kyant, Yangon region, Burma.
