Biography

David werd in 1939 naar Frankrijk gestuurd en diende daar bij het 226th Squadron of Light Bombers. Hij verloor al zijn persoonlijke bezittingen tijdens de terugtocht uit Frankrijk, maar kon via een lange route Frankrijk verlaten. Hij was daarna gestationeerd in Ierland en werd vervolgens in december 1940 overgeplaatst naar Benson.
