"On April 7, 1942, the Germans launched a powerful attack on the defending 82nd border guard. The goal of the strike was a breakthrough of the defense, an exit to Murmash and the Kirov Railway. The outpost, commanded by Senior Lieutenant Khalatina, was forced to accept an unequal battle in the vicinity of the Circle height. On the fifth day, almost all died. But corporal Mikhail Babikov, several times wounded, continued to fight. When the cartridges ran out, grenades were used. Babikov used the last grenade to blow himself up and his opponents who surrounded him."
