"On the 5th December; 1939, Private Sprosan was employed as Company runner and he displayed coolness, .initiative, and disregard of his personal safety, under heavy fire.
He greatly assisted his Company Commander by keeping him informed of enemy movements, carrying accurate messages under fire.
Finally when there was a possibility of the enemy escaping, he doubled round, came into action alone, and by accurate shooting drove the enemy back."
