Scharfschützenabzeichen 1.Stufe

The 1.Stufe, or third class of the Scharfschützenabzeichen could be obtained after 20 hits as sharpshooter. The decoration was, as the other classes, introduced on 20th August 1944.

The oval shaped, fabric decoration, shows a black eagles head between two green, bounded oak leaves. Below is shown an acorn. The whole has been embroidered on a piece of green cloth. The eagle bears a yellow beak and eye. The iris is coloured black.

The decoration could only be awarded to military that actually served as sharpshooter. It was to be worn on the upper right arm, above other placed decorations.
