Biography

Aspiring pilot at KLM / member of the Resistance

After the capitulation, Uyt den Bogaard was interned in the camp near Schoorl with many others from the KLM staff in training for flight duty. Released, he joined the Resistance. Traveling from Zeeland, where he worked in distribution, he was captured by the SD on the train on May 11, 1944, locked up in prison in Scheveningen and from there transferred to camp Vught. Then transported to Germany, where he died on February 18, 1945 in the Dachau concentration camp.
In Sas van Gent, former student Uyt den Bogaard is named with the Nico Uyt den Bogaardstraat.
