Biography

Erwin Clausen was killed on October 4th, 1943, when his plane was shot down over the North sea, near Borkum. At that moment he was Kommandeur I. / Jagdgeschwader 11 with the rank of Hauptmann. He was posthumously promoted to Major.

He flew a total of 561 sorties and achieved 132 aerial victories (including 114 in the East and 14 four-engined bombers).
