Donald C. Boyd entered service on 30th August 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. He joined the Cannon Companie in 128th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division as replacement at Aitape, Papua New Guinea. Following the Company was send to Hollandia for training and was equipped with the M-7 Priest. Donald Boyd was chosen to drive the Priest. After this training they were send to Leyte after the initial landings. This was followed by actions on Luzon and at Villa Verde.
