Theodor Hartling was born in Schweinfurt. After the war ended, he worked for the american army unit "Labour Service". In the 1960's he was promoted to director of the civil protection school in Bavaria (Munich, Tutzing, Wolfratshausen, Geretsried) and worked there until his retirement.
He was awarded in the Federal Cross Of Merit in the 1980's.
