This monument on the Korvelplein was made by Luc van Hoek and is now in a niche on the side of the church. The statue was placed in October 1942 in a chapel near house number 100. Jan van Asten had made a piece of land of approximately 12 square meters available to place the statue. The money for the statue was raised by the residents of Berkdijkestraat to reinforce their plea to Mary for protection during the war. In 1958, the parish received the piece of land where the statue stood by will. In March 1991 the statue was moved to the niche at the side of the church.
