Biography

25.06.1944: Maschinenobergefreiter, WIA and rescued when U-269 a German submarine Type VIIC was sunk in the Channel south-east of Torquay by depth charges from the British frigate HMS Bickerton : 13 dead and 39 survivors.
02.07.1944: DOW in a British hospital
The wreck of U-269 was located in 1951 during the search for the British submarine HMS Affray, which sank with all hands on 16 April, 1951 when her snorkel mast broke off near Alderney.
