    "Arriving in England in January, 1941 as Colonel, he served at the Netherlands War Office in London till appointed to command the Netherlands Brigade in September of the year. In January 1942 he proceeded on a mission to the Far East and co-operated with C.O.G. Ceylon, till June. Returning as Head of the Netherlands General Staff Branch in the United Kingdom in December, 1942, he prepared the organisation of the new Netherlands Army in England in conjunction with the War Office and in January, 1945 assumed the appointment of General Officer Commanding Netherlands Forces in the United Kingdom.
    General Evekink throughout has proved himself a great friend of Britian and made no small contribution to the mutual friendship and understanding already existing."
