"This officer who had given valuable assistance to his British and American colleagues in the Special Projects Operations Centre was parachuted into France as South East Regional Commander shortly before D-day.

His precedessor had been arrested, tortured and killed.

His unusual grasp of the Maquis problems and his masterly handling of them together with his untailing cooperation were of the highest value to Allied Headquarters in the coordination of resistance risings with the allied landings on the South Coast.

It is recommended that this officer be appointed an Officer in the Order of the British Empire (Military Division) (Honorary).
