Biography

Matthijs Petrus Leiwakabessy was born on August 4th, 1880 in Porto on the Maluku Island Saparoea as the son to Petrus Pieter Leiwakabessy and Margaretha Nanlohy. On February 14th, 1912 he married in Saparoea with Leonora Maria Latumanuwy (born April 8th, 1884, Saparoea). He had two children with Radèn Ajoe Oda (with whom he not was married), Pieter Matthijs (born November 3rd, 1905) and Margaretha Sara (bonr January 22nd 1907) who he had legalized as his children.
