Biography

Service number, M.13716.
He was a member of the Indian Armed Forces Medical Corps. After the war, he served in Lucknow and Ambala among other postings. He was later seconded to the Indian Navy as it had no separate medical branch then. He was Principal Medical Officer on board the cruiser INS (Indian Naval Ship) Delhi, and was both Executive Officer as well as Commanding Officer at different times (the latter during 1960-62) of INHS (Indian Naval Hospital Ship) Aswini in Bombay. He reverted to the Army to serve during the Indo-China War which commenced in 1962 and took premature retirement in 1965.
