"For gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 3d Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82d Airborne Division, in action on 3 January 1945, near ****, Belgium. First Lieutenant Moxley, Company Executive Officer, voluntarily crossed 2,000 yards of dangerous terrain under continuous enemy artillery, mortar and small arms fire to bring up vitally needed tanks for the attack on the town. As the company moved up, Lieutenant Moxley contacted three tanks and personally guided them to his company sector. He cleared one minefield on the way and maneuvered the tanks into strategic positions, enabling the capture of this vital point with reduced time and casualties. First Lieutenant Moxley's brave and voluntary action reflects credit upon himself and the United States Airborne Forces."
